The BHAA has a growing number of volunteer-run horseback archery clubs across the UK ideal for people who have access to a horse. If you just want to try out horseback archery or you don’t have access to a horse, several commercial riding centres are affiliated with the BHAA. There are three ways to get safe and accredited horseback archery coaching:
- Join a local club which is often run by volunteers; often you will need your own horse.
- Book lessons at one of our affiliated schools.
- Contact one of our affiliated freelance coaches, who all hold a BHAA coaching qualification.
You can use the list below to search for a club, school or freelance coach near you.

If you’re interested in setting up a Horseback Archery Club or if you’d like to become an Affiliated School then please do get in touch (britishhorsebackarchery@gmail.com).

- Club has recognition as an entity separate from the individuals e.g. the Club can handle its own finances
- Mutual support network across the country
Affiliated Schools
Affiliated Schools are existing riding schools where you can learn horseback archery on a riding school horse, take BHAA qualifications and gradings. They also benefit from:
- Support from the BHAA on matters related to horseback archery
- Promotion by the BHAA via the website, facebook group and newsletter to secure new regular clients or for training events and competitions
- Non-BHAA members can access lower pricing for grading
