SUMMARY:Saturnalia Spectacular
DESCRIPTION:SummaryThis is a single day competition\, there will be no horses to hire. CCR equestrian is an event centre with a 100m by 50m arena\, high fences at each end. There will be 3 events:Walk/Trot (split & track TBC)Raid 1-2-3Slingshot 3The slingshot is a variation of the IHAA slingshot track\, modified to fit better in an arena\, additional time will be added to the par to allow safely turning (walk/trot permitted when turning but all shots must be taken from canter). Each class costs £23\, or as a package for £60Rosettes and prizes to the victors\, plus rosettes for the highest scoring iHBA participants in each class. As this event is being held in December challenges not usually faced by horseback archery competitions are presented\, most likely in adverse weather. In the event of weather where it is deemed unsafe to proceed the decision will be taken as early as possible\, no later than 72hrs in advance. If possible\, the event may be rescheduled (with a likely date of the 19th of December) but this will be down to the organiser’s discretion. Refunds will be given where possible; it is expected that at least partial refunds (£20/per class) will be given if it is necessary to cancelInsufficient entries & late entries: in the event of insufficient entries the competition will not go ahead. A decision on this will be taken no later than the 10th of December.   Running of the day:The event will begin at 9am with a safety briefing. Group start times for each event will be published closer to the event. A second safety briefing will take place specifically for competitors in the unique ‘slingshot’ event after the first 2 classes. HORSEBACK ARCHERY IS A RISK SPORT. IT IS EXPECTED THAT COMPETITIORS ONLY ENTER CLASSES FOR WHICH THEY ARE CAPABLE. The event is only open to BHAA members but there are no requirements for club affiliation. The event will take place in an arena where there are also jumps. These fences will have been removed from crucial areas but please be aware that this is not an empty field. The BHAA club horseback archer is required for all canter classes.  IT IS DECEMBER\, IT WILL BE COLD AND GET DARK QUICKLY. GENERAL FAFFING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. BRING LOTS OF LAYERS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSlingshot class track diagram (RIGHT). Arrows may be drawn from a quiver\, belt or sash or from the hand. Primarily follows  IHAA procedure as for slingshot 5 & 6

SUMMARY:Junior & Young Rider National Championships
DESCRIPTION:National Championships Junior and Young Rider as defined in the IHAA rules below \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChild: Up to and including 13 years old.Junior: Up to and including 17 years old.Young Rider: 18 – 21 years old.Senior: 22 years or older.Masters: 50 years or older.For determining 2.1\, a competitor’s age is the age they will turn that year.i.e. if a competitor turns 22 on 24th Oct 2020 they will count as 22 years old for all competitions in 2020\, and must ride as a senior all year.It is permitted for an individual to move up an age grade if they wish\, but this decision would be applicable for the whole year.(This applies only for child\, junior and young rider\, not for senior to masters).Where a competitor’s age category is not contested at a given competition they should ride in the nearest age group above theirs. They should return to their normal age category at subsequent competitions.Where records are contested\, a rider’s age category counts as per 2.1 and 2.2.If an individual is competing “up an age grade” then it is possible for them to be awarded a record for their actual age group and/or for the age group they are competing in.Competitions for children will be run without timing rules. They must maintain the pace of canter or gallop\, but they will not receive any points or penalties for speed; only target points and multi-hit bonuses (where applicable) will determine their score.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n* Guidance on competitors nominating their age category (as per 2.3) will be published on the IHAA website
