Personal Interests?

Would be nice to get an idea of the personal interests (historically speaking) of forum members. So if you are into your Native Indians, Huns or Sycthians let us know.

As my username would suggest for me is the Mamluks but also Ottomans, Persians, Arabs.

At the moment I'm in the middle of a lot of books about the Mamluks and hope to write an introduction to their reign and especially their furusiyya manuals soon.

General history I'm more interested in Western Europe, but I'm also into military history and particularly strategy and tactics. I therefore look at the way they fought (which is fairly similar amongst most of them) and their clashes with the West. In particular, why the West tended to get so thoroughly spanked and why they never learned...
